No real figures, no trial clock
Try ReportPilot on Xero's Demo Company
Every Xero login includes a free Demo Company: a sample business with realistic, made-up figures. Connect that instead of your own business and you see exactly what ReportPilot does, the Monday email and the 24-month dashboard, without sharing a single real number.
- Sample data only: nothing real is shared.
- Your 14-day trial starts only when you connect your real business.
- Read-only access. No card.
How it works
Three steps, about ten minutes
-
Step 1
Open the Demo Company in Xero once
Log in to Xero, click your organisation name at the top left, choose My Xero, then "Try the demo company". New Xero users are often taken straight to it. This is what puts it in the list of organisations you can connect.
-
Step 2
Connect it to ReportPilot
Press "Connect the Demo Company" below and sign in with Xero as usual. On Xero's own screen, pick "Demo Company (UK)", "(AU)", "(NZ)", "(US)" or "(Global)" from the organisation list, and allow read-only access.
-
Step 3
Read the Monday email it writes
A few minutes later the dashboard has the Demo Company's 24 months of figures, and the first Monday email arrives in your inbox, labelled as sample data.
When you are ready, connect your real business. The app shows "Demo mode" at the top with a "Now connect your real business" button. Your 14-day free trial starts that day, still with no card (pricing).
Not on Xero at all? Read a full sample Monday email, or try the free calculators, which work with figures from any accounting software.

Questions
What is Xero's Demo Company?
A sample business that Xero gives every login for free: a full set of realistic, made-up invoices, bills, bank transactions and reports, so you can try things without touching your own books. Xero names it by region, for example "Demo Company (UK)" or "Demo Company (AU)".
Does connecting it share any of my real figures?
No. ReportPilot only sees the organisation you pick on Xero's screen. Pick the Demo Company and it reads the Demo Company's sample figures and nothing else. ReportPilot also asks for read-only access, so it cannot change anything in Xero.
Does it start my free trial?
No. While only the Demo Company is connected your account is in demo mode and the 14-day trial clock has not started. The trial starts on the day you connect your real business, and there is still no card.
I cannot see the Demo Company in the list. Why?
It only appears once it has been opened in Xero. Open Xero, choose My Xero from the organisation menu and press "Try the demo company", then come back here and connect again.
What happens when Xero resets the Demo Company?
Xero resets it 28 days after it was created, which deletes its data and ends app connections to it. ReportPilot then shows it as disconnected. You can reconnect the fresh one, or connect your real business.
How do I switch to my real business afterwards?
In ReportPilot, press "Now connect your real business" (or Organisations, then "Connect another organisation") and pick your own organisation on Xero's screen. Your trial starts then. You can keep or remove the Demo Company.
