Xero Analytics Plus alternative: ReportPilot vs Xero Analytics

Xero Analytics Plus is no longer sold separately; Xero Analytics comes in Xero plans. What it does, and what ReportPilot adds: a plain-English weekly email.

Xero Analytics details checked on 1 November 2026 from Xero Analytics's own website

Short answer: Analytics Plus is no longer sold as a separate add-on. Xero's current offer is Xero Analytics, included in its business plans at no extra cost, with more as the plan goes up: a short-term cash flow forecast (30 days on Ignite up to 180 days on Ultimate), custom dashboards, health scorecards, budgets with suggestions, and on Ultimate KPIs, ratios and industry benchmarks. ReportPilot does a different job: it emails a short plain-English summary of the same Xero figures every Monday, to the owner and anyone they add, with a 24-month dashboard and scheduled report packs, from USD 19 a month. Use Xero Analytics if the people who need the numbers log in to Xero. Add ReportPilot if they do not.

On 1 November 2026 none of Xero's pricing pages listed an Analytics Plus price, and its old Analytics Plus pages returned "not found". This page compares ReportPilot with Xero Analytics, which Xero now includes in its business plans.

Where Xero Analytics is the better choice

  • No extra cost: it comes with your Xero plan, and nothing else has to be connected.
  • A forward-looking short-term cash flow forecast from your bills and invoices; ReportPilot does not forecast.
  • Health scorecards, KPIs and ratios, and industry benchmarks on the higher plans.
  • Budgets with suggestions, and consolidation and advanced forecasting through Syft on Ultra (AU).

Where ReportPilot is the better choice

  • It comes to you: a plain-English email every Monday at 7am, so nobody has to remember to log in and look.
  • It reaches people without a Xero login: co-directors, managers or investors on the email get a read-only 24-month dashboard link.
  • It explains in sentences what changed since last month and which account line drove it, then gives one thing to do this week, rather than leaving you to read the charts.
  • Scheduled report packs by email (PDF, Excel, CSV) with approve-before-send, which Xero does not do on its own.
  • Bookkeepers can send the weekly email to every client under their practice name.

ReportPilot does not consolidate companies, build forecasts or budgets, or let you design custom reports and KPIs. It connects to Xero only.

Who each is best for

Xero Analytics: owners and bookkeepers who already open Xero every week and want charts, a short-term forecast and scorecards at no extra cost.

ReportPilot: owners who don't log in to Xero (or share the numbers with people who can't), and bookkeepers who want each client emailed every week.

Trying ReportPilot next to Xero Analytics

You do not have to switch to compare. Xero lets one organisation connect to several apps at once, and ReportPilot only reads from Xero, so it cannot change anything another app relies on.

  1. Connect Xero with Connect Xero: pick the organisation on Xero's own screen. ReportPilot gets read-only access; no card is needed for the 14-day trial.
  2. Read the first email. ReportPilot loads 24 months of history, usually within a few minutes, and sends the first insight email. Put it next to the report you get from Xero Analytics today and ask which one the owner would actually read.
  3. Set up one report pack (bookkeepers): the Profit and Loss, Balance Sheet and aged receivables as PDF or Excel, monthly, with approve-before-send so nothing reaches a client before you have looked at it.
  4. Run both for a full month end. Only then decide whether some or all clients move. Keep Xero Analytics for the work ReportPilot does not do: consolidation, forecasts and custom reports.

Common questions

What happened to Xero Analytics Plus?

On 1 November 2026 Xero no longer listed Analytics Plus as an add-on, and its Analytics Plus pages returned "not found". Xero's current pages describe Xero Analytics, included at no extra cost in its business plans, with features that depend on the plan.

What does Xero Analytics include?

According to Xero's plan pages: a short-term cash flow forecast (30 days on Ignite, 60 on Grow, 90 on Comprehensive, 180 on Ultimate), custom dashboards from Grow, health scorecards and budgets with suggestions from Comprehensive, and KPIs, ratios and industry benchmarks on Ultimate. The AU Ultra plan adds consolidation and advanced forecasting through Syft.

Do I need ReportPilot if I have Xero Analytics?

Only if the people who need the numbers do not open Xero. ReportPilot's value is the email: every Monday, in plain English, to the owner and anyone they add, without logging in. If you look at Xero every week anyway, Xero Analytics may be all you need.

Can Xero email reports automatically?

Not on a schedule. Xero builds report packs, but you send them by hand. ReportPilot sends scheduled packs (PDF, Excel or CSV) weekly, monthly or quarterly.

Does ReportPilot change anything in Xero?

No. It has read-only access and cannot create, change or delete anything in your books.
