Syft Analytics alternative: ReportPilot vs Syft
ReportPilot vs Syft Analytics (now Syft from Xero): prices and features. Syft has a free plan, consolidation and forecasts; ReportPilot a weekly email.
Syft Analytics details checked on 24 October 2026 from Syft Analytics's own website
Short answer: Syft (now branded "Syft from Xero") is a reporting and analytics platform: dashboards and KPIs, consolidations with no limit on entities, budgets and forecasts, statutory financial statements and automated commentary, with a free Basic plan and paid plans from USD 23 a month. ReportPilot is narrower: it emails each owner a short plain-English summary of their Xero figures every Monday, with a 24-month dashboard and scheduled report packs, from USD 19 a month. Choose Syft for consolidation, forecasting or a free dashboard. Choose ReportPilot if the goal is an email the owner actually reads each week.
Syft now shows as "Syft from Xero": Xero acquired Syft Analytics, and Xero's own site offers Syft through its App Store and, through partners, at no extra cost with qualifying Xero plans. Syft's own website and pricing were still live on 24 October 2026.

Where Syft Analytics is the better choice
- A free plan: if dashboards are all you need, Syft Basic costs nothing.
- Consolidation of any number of entities, with eliminations and currencies, included in the price.
- Budgets and forecasts, including long-range, driver-based planning.
- Statutory financial statements (IFRS and GAAP) and many more data sources: other ledgers, Shopify, Stripe, Square.
- It is now part of Xero, and Xero offers it with some of its own plans.
Where ReportPilot is the better choice
- The weekly email is the product: every Monday the owner gets cash, sales, profit, who owes money, bills due and one thing to do, in plain English, without logging in anywhere.
- Built for the owner who will not open a dashboard; co-directors and managers on the email get a read-only dashboard link without an account.
- Bookkeepers can send that email to every client under their practice name, and schedule report packs with approve-before-send.
- Plain pricing by number of organisations: one for USD 19, up to 15 for USD 49, up to 50 for USD 129.
ReportPilot does not consolidate companies, build forecasts or budgets, or let you design custom reports and KPIs. It connects to Xero only.
Who each is best for
Syft Analytics: accountants and businesses that need consolidation, forecasting, statutory statements or data from beyond Xero, and anyone happy with a free dashboard.
ReportPilot: owners who want a short weekly email about their Xero numbers, and bookkeepers who want every client to get one without building dashboards.
Trying ReportPilot next to Syft Analytics
You do not have to switch to compare. Xero lets one organisation connect to several apps at once, and ReportPilot only reads from Xero, so it cannot change anything another app relies on.
- Connect Xero with Connect Xero: pick the organisation on Xero's own screen. ReportPilot gets read-only access; no card is needed for the 14-day trial.
- Read the first email. ReportPilot loads 24 months of history, usually within a few minutes, and sends the first insight email. Put it next to the report you get from Syft Analytics today and ask which one the owner would actually read.
- Set up one report pack (bookkeepers): the Profit and Loss, Balance Sheet and aged receivables as PDF or Excel, monthly, with approve-before-send so nothing reaches a client before you have looked at it.
- Run both for a full month end. Only then decide whether some or all clients move. Keep Syft Analytics for the work ReportPilot does not do: consolidation, forecasts and custom reports.
Common questions
Is Syft owned by Xero?
Yes. Syft now shows as "Syft from Xero" and Xero's own site links to its announcement of the acquisition. Syft's own website and plans were still live on 24 October 2026.
How much does Syft cost?
On 24 October 2026 Syft's pricing page showed a free Basic plan and Standard USD 23, Plus USD 47 and Advanced USD 95 a month, with a 14-day trial and no card. For more than 10 entities it asks you to contact them. Check syftanalytics.com for current prices.
Is ReportPilot a replacement for Syft?
Only if what you want from Syft is a regular view of the numbers for owners. ReportPilot does not consolidate, forecast or build statutory statements; Syft does.
Can I use Syft and ReportPilot together?
Yes. Both connect to Xero, and ReportPilot only reads from it. A common split is Syft for consolidation or forecasting and ReportPilot for the Monday email to the owner.
Does ReportPilot have a free plan?
No, but there is a 14-day free trial with no card, and a free one-off Xero health check that does not start a trial at all.
