Joiin alternative: ReportPilot vs Joiin
ReportPilot vs Joiin: prices, features, who each suits. Joiin is built to consolidate groups across ledgers; ReportPilot for a weekly email from Xero.
Joiin details checked on 24 October 2026 from Joiin's own website
Short answer: Joiin is built around consolidation: it maps several companies' charts of accounts, eliminates intercompany items and produces group reports, dashboards, budgets and branded report packs, across Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, MYOB and more. On its pricing calculator one company costs USD 35 a month (Core). ReportPilot does not consolidate: it reads each Xero organisation and emails the owner a short plain-English summary every Monday, with a 24-month dashboard and scheduled report packs, from USD 19 a month. Choose Joiin for group reporting. Choose ReportPilot for a weekly read of each business on its own.

Where Joiin is the better choice
- Consolidation: several companies, eliminations, and different accounting systems in one set of group figures.
- Budgets on every plan and forecasting on Pro and Max.
- Custom report layouts and board-ready report packs, an Excel add-in (Pro), and API and Zapier access (Max).
- Many more ledgers than Xero: QuickBooks, Sage, MYOB, FreeAgent, Zoho Books and others.
Where ReportPilot is the better choice
- A plain-English Monday email for each business: cash and how long it lasts, sales and profit against last month, who owes money, bills due and one thing to do.
- For single companies: USD 19 a month against Joiin Core at USD 35, and USD 49 for up to 15 organisations.
- A 24-month dashboard per organisation, with a read-only link for each person on the email.
- Bookkeepers can send the weekly email under their practice name, and schedule packs with approve-before-send.
ReportPilot does not consolidate companies, build forecasts or budgets, or let you design custom reports and KPIs. It connects to Xero only.
What it costs
For one company: Joiin Core is USD 35 a month on its pricing calculator; ReportPilot Owner is USD 19. For 10 companies: Joiin Core is USD 122 a month; ReportPilot Bookkeeper covers up to 15 organisations for USD 49. If you need the 10 companies consolidated into one set of figures, though, Joiin does it and ReportPilot does not.
Who each is best for
Joiin: groups with several companies, and accountants who report on groups, especially across different ledgers.
ReportPilot: single businesses on Xero (or a few, each on its own) whose owners want a short weekly email, and bookkeepers sending that to each client.
Trying ReportPilot next to Joiin
You do not have to switch to compare. Xero lets one organisation connect to several apps at once, and ReportPilot only reads from Xero, so it cannot change anything another app relies on.
- Connect Xero with Connect Xero: pick the organisation on Xero's own screen. ReportPilot gets read-only access; no card is needed for the 14-day trial.
- Read the first email. ReportPilot loads 24 months of history, usually within a few minutes, and sends the first insight email. Put it next to the report you get from Joiin today and ask which one the owner would actually read.
- Set up one report pack (bookkeepers): the Profit and Loss, Balance Sheet and aged receivables as PDF or Excel, monthly, with approve-before-send so nothing reaches a client before you have looked at it.
- Run both for a full month end. Only then decide whether some or all clients move. Keep Joiin for the work ReportPilot does not do: consolidation, forecasts and custom reports.
Common questions
How much does Joiin cost?
On 24 October 2026 the calculator on Joiin's pricing page showed, for one company, USD 35 a month on Core, USD 42 on Pro and USD 49 on Max (GBP 25 / 30 / 35), rising with the number of companies (10 companies: USD 122 / 130 / 144). Yearly billing gives two months free. Check joiin.co for current prices.
Does ReportPilot consolidate companies like Joiin?
No. ReportPilot reports on each Xero organisation separately. For group figures with eliminations, use Joiin, Fathom or Syft, or a spreadsheet for two or three companies.
I own two businesses on Xero. Do I need Joiin?
Only if you want one combined set of figures. If you want to know how each business is doing, ReportPilot's Bookkeeper plan (up to 15 organisations) sends a weekly email for each one.
Can I use Joiin and ReportPilot together?
Yes. Both read from Xero, and ReportPilot cannot change anything there.
Does Joiin have a free trial?
Yes: 14 days on its Max plan, and its pricing page says no card is taken at signup.
